| I figured I should change my profile pic to include my pretty kitty so anyone who stumbles by can see why I would pay so much money for an animal. Look at that face!! | | |
| I have a tendency to break even. It's way better than coming up short all the time, but it's frustrating just the same. Case-in-point:
My cat (that's right, my CAT) needed a $1000 dollar operation on his eye several years ago, and I love the little guy so we went through with the procedure. Shortly thereafter, a relative I hardly knew passed and I received $1000 inheritance in the mail. Go figure...
Anyway, the point of this post is really to never give up hope or trying. You never know how things may work out. Count your blessings, keep an optimistic attitude (even though it's hard sometimes), and push on through whatever problems you may be having and do what you can to learn from it and prepare for the next ones (hmmmm...I don't think that sounds very optimistic. Oh well, I'm an enigma wrapped in a riddle).
| A very happy one-year birthday wish goes out to www.midnightbox.com !!!!
They are an excellent site for finding cheap goods (especially one's that are electronically-oriented.) I've made several purchases there since I've discovered it, and have been satisfied each time.
...and yes, I do get benefits by wishing them a Happy Birthday today, so I have ulterior motives for this post

| NFL Draft day! Where, oh where will A.J. Hawk go? Hopefully not to the Lions. I don't want to have to start rooting for them. It's much more enjoyable to watch Detroit fans squirm over the chronic helplessness of their team without having to be a part of it. However, I am very eager to see how well Hawk plays in the NFL, and the team he plays for will have to be my second favorite team (after the Bears). It would be great to see the one-two knockout punch of Brian Uhrlacher and Hawk together on Chicago, but the Bears were far too successful last season (thereby making their first selection the 26th pick) to have a good shot at getting him. They likely are looking at other positions anyway...
Harumph...
Stranger things have happened...
Update: Fortunately, the Packers - not the Lions - are my new second-favorite team!!!
